THE RAIN IS COMING

This was the view from the balcony of my condo last Sunday afternoon of an approaching storm. It really was that dark and I had visions of the end of the world.
Each morning this week has involved a damp and overcast commute to the office. From the air-conditioned bubble of my taxi it seems just like an Autumnal morning back in the UK, but that changes when I step outside into the heat and humidity. More often that not my glasses have steamed up!

Bangkok is now heading into the rainy season. It's cooled down a little from a few weeks back, and for the next few months we're likely to have some impressive storms. Watch out for pictures, hopefully.

What a splendid rainy season so far.

Rainy at night, cloudy during the day - I'm sleeping like a baby.

Looking forward to your stormy gallery!

This morning (Friday) the rain did not let up and there were huge traffic jams.

My wife left home before 10 for what is normally a 40 minute journey to the office. At 11.10 she called to let me know that she was stuck between the first and second toll gates on the Expressway, in-bound from the Eastern Outer Ring Road.

No accidents apparently, just the rain.

I think the rain combined with the first day back at some/most Bangkok schools contributed to the chaos today.

And even without the rain it's taken me more than two hours to get home this evening - double the normal time.
