THE PICTURE YOU DIDN'T SEE
I have often been very critical of the overseas media, and its coverage of Thailand. I can totally understand why the events in central Bangkok made front pages and were top stories on news reports around the world. Sadly for Thailand these are the images that stay in the minds for months, if not years.
What you do not see is that Bangkok was back to its normal chaotic self less than 48-hour after the bombing at the Erawan Shrine on August 17. The picture above, which I took myself, is one that simply doesn't carry the gravitas for readers and viewers around the world - yet it's just as true.
