FIRST GLIMPSE OF MAPLUS
Yesterday I got to see the magazine I will be working on for the very first time. It's called MAPLUS - Information for Longstay in Thailand. The first impression is of an excellent, quality publication with lots of high-profile advertising from both Bangkok and Chang Mai. It's written in both English and Japanese, and the target readers are English and Japanese people spening more than just a few days in the LoS.
I have to say that the use of English at the moment isn't good. For example "In December, 2004, something magnificent happened, there was alike an ancient place that it set on a vast one of verdant tranquil grounds in the historical and cultural". That is a word-for-word introduction to a piece about a heritage project undertaken by a leading hotel in Chang Mai. My new job as editor for this magazine will be, let's say, both interesting and challenging !

I think you should definately take a dictionary so you can translate from Thai English to English English!! My guess is that your circulation may increase when people can understand your magazine!!!
P.S. - nice cover shot
By the way I will be reading evrything and commenting back a lot so be warned
