MY OWN OFFICE
My company will be moving to new offices at the end of this year, and on Friday my boss told me that I will have my own office in the new building. The reason for this is that I do deal with quite a bit of commercially confidential information, but I am not totally sure I want to be tucked away from the rest of the staff.
Right now I am at one end of an open-plan office and can hear and see everything that happens. It's hard enough for most of the Thai staff to come and see me (they're scared of losing face by making a mistake with their English) and by having them come into my office I am sure it will only make things harder for them.
If I do get my own office then I know the door will always be open.
