A COMMON SIGHT ...
... especially in the smaller lanes are young children being transported on motorcycles. What scares me is the fact none of them wear helmets - and that's not illegal here. You can ride a bike anywhere apart from the main roads without a helmet.
I have seen a family of five on a single bike, and I guess the youngest person I have seen being ferried was a matter of a few days old. Bikes are cheap - the one in this picture would cost no more than a few hundred pounds - so it's one reason why they are so popular. Motorcyles are also used as taxis from the mouth of most lanes for people who live deeper into the labyrinth of alleys within.
