GOOD LUCK
My good friend Sitala began work at the BBC this week. I had hoped that she would join me in Bangkok to work as deputy editor for our new magazine but she chose to follow her dream and work for arguably one of the best broadcasters in the world - albeit in the south west of England. I'm just sorry that we have missed out on her; obviously our loss is the BBC's gain.
We worked together in Wokingham several years ago and after she left we kept in touch. She worked her way up the ladder to become district reporter at one of the leading weekly newspapers in the country. Tanya and I spend a great day with her and her boyfriend Russell during our recent trip back. We went horse racing at Warwick - and each of us had one winner. I was just a few inches from having a second winner, but that's another story.
I think Sitala is destined to be a great reporter, and it's not going to be too long before she's reporting on the national and international stage.
