THAI BUSINESS THINKING

Thai businessmen and women are unique. When business is slack the natural thing to do is to reduce prices to encourage more sales, right? Wrong!
In Thailand when business is slow they raise their prices in order to make up for the losses. Take the recent example of national lottery tickets where the Songkran New Year holidays meant fewer people in Bangkok buying tickets. There's an 'official' price for each ticket but quite often the vendors ask for more. Because of lack of sales over the holidays the Government had to issue a warning to the public advising them not to pay over the odds for tickets from vendors who had raised their prices to cope with reduced sales.
Only in Thailand!
