BANKING BENEFITS

One example of where Thailand is more advanced in terms of banking is that you can pay most of your monthly bills at the ATM.
The majority of bills have a bar code and most of the ATMs have a reader that allows you to scan the code and make the payment directly from your account. It's convenient and means you don't have to spend time queueing to pay your bills. (Pity the poor person stuck behind me at the ATM when I am paying all of mine at the same time).
I guess this service makes up for the fact that Internet banking in Thailand is way behind many other countries. There's only one bank here that comes close to the kind of service you would expect as standard in the UK.
