DERBY DAY

Today is Derby Day back in the UK and I am going to jump on the Frankie Dettori bandwagon and suggested that his mount Authorised will win.
Many years ago I once had a one twelfth share in a racehorse that very early on in his career held an entry in what is probably the world's most famous horse race. Once he ran it was obvious he was never going to achieve the standard needed to take part in that race, although he did end up winning three times in his career - once was ridden by the illustrious Frankie.
I think the only coverage I'll see here in Bangkok will be the last 100 yards in a BBC news report. Gambling is banned here so it's unlikely to feature on mainstream television.
