PROTESTS GROW

Around 10,000 people gathered in Bangkok last night to protest against the ruling military junta. The protests have been ongoing for a few weeks but they've reached the level now where the outside world is starting to take notice. I've just seen a report about the event on the BBC.
A larger gathering is planned for later this month, and I cannot see things getting any better until the proposed elections at the end of this year. Before then there has to be a vote on the new constitution, so we're still a long way from any form of real political stability.
