STORM FORCE WINDS

We had some incredibly strong winds (accompanied by rain) in Bangkok yesterday afternoon. Not too far from the office a woman was killed when a four-storey high advertising hoarding fell into the noddle shop where she saw sitting. We experienced a brief power cut, but the resulting chaos meant we were without email and Internet access for around four hours.
It's only a times like that you realise just how much you rely in the Internet and email. I would guess around 95 per cent of my job necessitates using electronic communications in one form or another. Yesterday also highlighted the desperate need for some kind of back-up and disaster recovery plan.
