THE FASHION SHOW SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

Not for the first time I felt that doing my weekly food shop feels more like taking part in a fashion show. I guess I should explain that these experiences happen at Central Chitlom, which is arguably one of the best food shops in Bangkok for 'farang' food. This is the place I've mentioned before where I can get the likes of Marks & Spencers Custard Creams and Waitrose Oven Cut Chips. (I even found some Cheesy Wotsits yesterday).
Because this store is, by Thai standards, expensive it only attracts the higher end of society, and that was even more evident yesterday when I counted 11 women shopping in high heels. Most had extensive make-up and wouldn't have looked out of place on a catwalk.
It kinda made me, in my jeans, feel very out of place.
