IT'S OFFICIALLY COLD IN THAILAND

From The Bangkok Post: 'Eighteen districts in the northern province of Chiang Rai are declared as cold-affected areas. Chiang Rai governor Preecha Kamonbutr said villagers affected most from the cold weather are hill tribes, which account for 400,000 out of 1.3 million population in the province.'
This region is in the far north of Thailand, is relatively mountainous and temperatures have recently gone down as low as 8 degrees Celsius at the airport - which means colder still higher up. Being declared as a cold-effected areas means a payout from the Government.
In Bangkok today it's really nice. There's a cooling breeze, and although the BBC Weather website is claiming 30 degrees Celsius I would say it's a few degrees below that. Why can't Bangkok be like this all year round?
