AIRPORT TROUBLES

I flew to Singapore on Thai Airways, and despite both flights being 100 per cent full I have no complaints about the on board service. However there were several things on the return flight to Suvarnabhumi that were not ideal.
Firstly you have to question why a packed Airbus A330 arriving at 10:15pm was parked on a remote stand? That meant a bus trip to the terminal, which wasn't a problem for me but certainly didn't go down well with many of my fellow passengers. Luggage also took forever to arrive on the carousel. I had two bags - the first of which had a 'Priority' tag still attached from the outbound flight. That arrived on the belt within about 25 minutes of landing, but I had to wait another 40 minutes for my second bag to appear. And as you can imagine there were a lot of unhappy people by that point - well over an hour after we had landed, and at what is a relatively quiet time for the airport.
Suvarnabhumi has had its fair share of problems but it's been open for 14 months now so the 'new airport teething troubles' excuse just isn't valid anymore. And after the hassle-free experience of Singapore's Changi airport you can certainly understand why some people prefer using that airport as a hub for their Asia trips as opposed to Bangkok.
