GREEN BANGKOK

Following my post last week with a map of where I am living, Teresa commented on how green the city looks. I hadn't really noticed but this week I've been taking more of an interest and yes, for a city that's hot and supposedly polluted Bangkok is pretty green. I guess the humidity and rain showers make it a nice place to live if you're a tree? This picture is the view from the balcony of my condo. It's nothing to write home about and it's not in central Bangkok but you can see the number of trees and bushes. It's a real mixture where I live. There are some mango trees, papaya trees, palms, coconut trees and even the odd pine tree.

Hi Andrew - strange how we all see things. I guess I had always thought of Bankok as built -up and was so surprised to see how green it looked. I love trees and, of course, over here they really help mark the seasons. The trees you have sound really exptic to me.
