WEIRD AND WONDERFUL

My quest for some of the more unusual Thai language magazines is proving pretty interesting. This week I bring you Thai Cross Breed magazine, a magazine seemingly devoted to the hobby (and business for some no doubt) of Thai crossbred fish.
This is a pocket-sized publication with an extremely healthy number of adverts in its 148 pages. It sells for 65 baht (about one pound) and is dubbed 'The best seller crossbreed magazine'. I couldn't actually find any other magazines in this sector so I am not going to dispute that fact.
I'm no fish expert but these fish look genetically deformed. They all have huge lumps on their heads - and there must by thousands of pictures of said fish in this magazine. Each to their own I suppose.

This is a breed of fish and they are known to have large heads. I dont remember its name, but its been here for a long time. I doubt its generic modification. When the fish is small you cant predict how big the head is gonna get, an adult with a large head could easily fetch upwards of 50k baht / fish.

Thanks Sajal. I never imagined a fish like that would fetch such high prices. I learned something new today, thanks.
