FREE NEWS ... FOR NOW

The Guardian newspaper reports that the BBC has dropped plans to charge a subscription fee for international users of its website. That's good news, but I wonder how much they were planning to charge?
When you think about it the British license fee payers are essentially paying for my BBC website viewing pleasure. Thanks everyone in the United Kingdom. But seriously, how much do you think would have been reasonable? Ten pounds a month? Less? More? And at ten pounds would you have paid or gone elsewhere for your news?
