IT MUST BE SERIOUS

The political situation in Thailand must be getting worse. There was a long piece on the BBC this morning highlighting the ongoing demonstrations against the Samak government, shaky investor confidence that has seen the Stock Exchange of Thailand fall for five straight days and higher than expected inflation figures. There are also ongoing rumours, strongly denied, of a further coup.
Thailand badly needs to restore confidence, especially in the eyes of those outside the kingdom. Ongoing tensions and political uncertainty can only damage the country further.
