MORE MAGAZINE ISSUES
Here is another example following on from yesterday's post about car magazine. That example featured two Thai language magazines but this one is slightly different.
The magazine on the left is Junior Magazine and has been published in Thai for a number of years. The magazine on the right, also called Junior, comes from the UK and is looking for licensing partners to establish a Thai language version. Obviously Thai existing Junior will have all the rights and licenses to use that name, so British Junior's move to Thailand if and when it happens is not going to be easy.

The last comment was sarcastic, right? I think we need to point this out, for the sake of thick readers like me.
Perhaps British Junior, if it does indeed decide to move into the Thai market, could Anglicise a Thai word for its title.
Yes, or something like Junior Thai Edition. The point is that overseas publishers should be thinking about protecting their trademark and brand in places where they don't yet operate, but intend to one day.
