A CAR OR CAR, WHICH IS THE REAL MAGAZINE?
These are car two magazine from Thailand. The one on the left is a home-grown title called 'a car' and the one on the right is Car, a licensed title from Bauer in the United Kingdom, produced here by Inspire Entertainment.
How many of you think they're too similar, and how many think (like me) that 'a car' is trying to cash in on the brand image of the overseas magazine?

Why do Thai-language magazines use English headlines on their covers?
The English use in Thai magazines is quite common and there are two reasons for this.
1) The use of English gives an impression of status or class.
2) Some English words just don't translate well into Thai in the same few number of words you need for a headline.
