MY TOP THAILAND MOMENTS
Okay, not quite the 1,000th post (number 997 if you're counting) but I thought it would be good to recap on my personal favourite moments since I set foot in Thailand two years ago this coming weekend. They're in no particular order.
Paying for a 24 baht token on the MRT in one of the automatic machines with a 100 baht note and getting the entire change in 1 baht coins. Jackpot!
Interviewing the famous (or should that be infamous) Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra in Dubai. Directly or indirectly he has massively shaped Thailand during my stay here.
That coup. I admit (and also admitted to Dr. T in the above interview) that I slept through it. I did get my photo taken with a solider though.
Elephants. A strange one I know but I still cannot get over the sight of seeing these massive creatures on the streets. I didn’t see any for ages and then one night last week I saw three in the space of ten minutes.
The magazine. How can I include any list of top moments without referring to the project that has taken up most of the last two years of my life? It’s been a never-ending rollercoaster ride, a massive challenge, desperately frustrating and immensely rewarding – often all at the same time.

Great idea for a post... I'll start working on my list over the weekend :)
So did you actually meet Mr T? How was the interview conducted?
Also, if you don't mind saying, what is the title of your mag and where can I buy? I'd love to check out a copy from someone that knows what they are doing lol
Hi Chris,
The interview (http://www.bangkokbugle.com/2008/04/my-big-interview.html) was in Dubai in April for 'my' magazine BusinessWeek Thailand. It's a licensed Thai language edition of the global brand and is available from all good bookshops (AsiaBooks and Se-Ed for example).
Hi Andrew,
How's it going? I am only at my halfway mark of 500 plus posts so, good on you! :)
Actually, may I ask how did you land your foot in Bangkok as an expat? Were you headhunted or did you apply for the job?
I am thinking of changing my environment.
