GRIDLOCK

Yesterday's journey home was a nightmare. It took almost two hours, mainly due to a large anti-government demonstration in the heart of Bangkok earlier in the day. The taxi crawled along the road outside my office and it took 80 minutes to travel the first kilometre - at a cost of 129 baht (about 1.90 in UK money).
