A POINTLESS WASTE OF TIME?
I stumbled across what I consider to be a completely pointless section on the Daily Xpress website earlier. In summary it's a small collection of front covers and several other inside pages from a number of Thai magazines. And that's all. No text. No information. Nothing.
I'm assuming the necessary copyright has been obtained from the few Thai titles that are currently appearing? And it's amazing that none of Nation group's own magazine titles - produced by sister company Media Expertise International - are featuring on these pages.
Khun Thanachai, the CEO of Nation Group, is scheduled to take part in the first Asia-Pacific Digital Magazine Media Conference next week in Tokyo. His panel discussion will explore 'the present and future of magazine publishing in the region'. He is listed as Thailand's only speaking representative at this event but I can't help but think there are more experienced people in Thailand with better ideas about how publishers can make best use of digital media and the Internet. If he has ideas then his own companies aren't really making use of them, in my opinion, and are way behind the curve compared to other publishers here.

The last time I visited that site, they offered English translations of the information which appears on the cover, which has limited use, but not much, as most of the content inside the magazines is still in Thai.
They did thank the website where those magazine covers appear: magazinedee.com.
Well.. they may be paying the webmaster on per page basis... or per square inch basis :p
That would explain a lot of things I find on most websites
