WAS THIS STORY WORTH PUBLISHING?
Yesterday's Bangkok Post published a story which highlighted the aspirations of an "unknown" Thai businesswoman to gain sole ownership of Thai Air Asia. There are many things wrong with this story, in my opinion.
Firstly, there is a reference to the woman being involved in the real estate industry, yet there are no Google references to her company other than from mentions in this story which have appeared elsewhere. The story does note the company exists as a legal entity, but also notes it being unknown within the real estate industry. A spokesman for the airline also ridiculed her wish to buy the airline because of a reported "fondness for the aviation business".Above all, the story noted the woman had not made contact with the airline, but was "sending out feelers through the media to see how the airline reacts".
Given this story hasn't appeared anywhere else in the English language media I wonder if the Bangkok Post has, on this occasion, been used to send out those "feelers"?
Do you think this story was even worthy of being published? My answer is a categorical no.

Looks like the Post is going into competition with the Nation.
Seriously but, most of the news section reads like a government newsletter, so why shouldn't the private sector have a go at using the Post as a mouthpiece.
