SOMETIMES, NOT ALWAYS
Previous readers of this blog will be aware that The Economist magazine has a reputations for failing to make it to the shelves in Thailand. This is for what news trade distributors and magazine retailers deem to be content that may be considered not suitable for the Kingdom - much like the recent New York Times International Edition which did not print one particular day.
A lot of people assume these scenarios with The Economist were happening a while back but the latest incident was just a few weeks ago at the end of August.
On this occasion some copies of The Economist did find their way to Bangkok - and on sale for less than 50 baht at one of the famous weekend markets. In the past no copies ever made it over the border so things have changed.
