SHE WAS A CANDIDATE, HONESTLY
It will be easy to get the wrong impression about me when I tell you that I interviewed someone yesterday who for an interview wearing her school uniform.
The fact is that it wasn't a 'school' uniform in the UK sense; it was the uniform worn by students from one of Bangkok's leading universities. She will be graduating at the end of April, and although she is 23 and has no experience I am still considering her for a position.
This HR game is really hard. How to I choose between someone with many years experience of Thai journalism (and who will find it hard to adjust to the new style of working) and someone like yesterday's graduate who will have no preconceptions about the way things should be?
Our new magazine will be so different from anything currently in Thailand that it might be better to appoint reporters who don't necessarily have the experience, but who come across as being talented and ambitious. What do you think?

Andrew you asked what we think about appointing. I think you need to have a mix - from waht you say I think that you need some wise heads that have plenty of experience but I would always want to have talented and ambitious people on my team. With a new magazine its got to be good to have someone with no preconceptions - grab this graduate and turn he rinto what you want.

I would agree with teresa. The important thing is how to mix a team like a finest coffee blend...wow!!!
