SORE THROAT

I had nine interviews yesterday for various positions within the new magazine, and that's probably why I have a sore throat this morning. I wish I could record myself and let the candidates listen for 30 minutes because I end up saying pretty much the same things each time. The good news is that I have interviewed some very promising and talented people, and I hope I will be able to finalise most of the positions by the end of next week.
Perhaps one thing that is increasingly apparent is that most people don't really have an understanding of how global business issues impact on Thailand, and that's good because that is the whole reason why we are embarking on this project. Poor house sales in the US means a weakening dollar, strengthening Thai baht and, in turn, higher prices here. Thailand seems to have a rather insular attitude, so part of what we are doing is to educate them that knowledge, especially business knowledge, will help them in their business and career.

I hope you would get the best one in each position.
