TANYA'S DAD 1, BBC WEATHER 0

Tanya's Dad said we would have rain today, and right now (2.30pm) we have a torrential downpour which ranks as one of the heaviest in recent months. The view of the Bangkok skyline from my office window disappeared more than half an hour ago and hasn't returned.
On the other hand, the BBC Weather website is predicting a mainly sunny day with highs of around 32 degrees C.
