DECISION DAY NEXT MONDAY

Thailand is gearing up for the referendum next Monday on the draft version of its new constitution. I've looked at an English translation of the document, and to be honest if the Government is expecting the average Thai person to fully understand the implications of what they are voting for then they are very misguided. I think it would take a trained lawyer to fully understand some of the clauses!
Perhaps that's the idea? I've not really seen any kind of constructive debate in the English media, but the Government appears quick to criticise people who are orchestrating a 'no' vote without really answering some of the claims that have been made.
Some people say that a 'yes' vote will be bad for the media and free speech but I guess only time will tell.
