LUNCH WITH THE AMBASSADOR

I've just got back to my office after having lunch with the British Ambassador to Thailand. Okay, I have to admit I wasn't alone - it was the AGM lunch of the British Chamber of Commerce and there were several hundred people having lunch with me too.
His Excellency Quinton Quayle gave his views on the year head for Thailand and spoke about the activities being organised by the British Embassy. His comments were in line with the wait-and-see approach being adopted by many people looking at Thailand from the outside. Interestingly he said he felt Thailand had been very much in neutral gear since the coup, has lost business opportunities and is losing out to competitor countries in the region. I totally agree.
