SO YOU WANNA BUY A MAGAZINE?

Buying a magazine is one way to get a foot in the door of what can be an exciting business. I know four titles in Thailand that are currently looking for buyers, one of which had a extremely good name and brand image before is stopped publishing more than one year ago.
This particular magazine was an English language travel title and was good at what it did. Revenues just dried up so the new buyer would need to sort that out before beginning to reestablish the magazine and deal with the negatives of being out of print for 12 months or more.
The price being touted is (still) 2 million baht. Most of this has to be brand image as there's not going to be much else left, and that value must surely be diminishing week by week.
So would you buy in these circumstances or would you rather start a brand new title?

Negotiate - sure, but only if you can see value in what is being offered.
