JOB SEEKER TURNED EMPLOYER

Just over one year ago I was talking to an English language newspaper in Thailand about a vacancy they had for a sub-editor. At the time I was keen on them and they seemed keen on me, but nothing was going to happen until I had arrived in Thailand.
Things moved on and I got the job with my current employer. Then, last week I had an email from one of their senior editorial staff telling me they had another vacancy and asking if I was interested. I explained that, with due respect, I'd come a long way in a year and that would be a step backwards in my career. The salary on offer was less than one third than what I am on now - but that's another issue.
After explaining my current situation and politely declining I was a bit surprised to get an email from this person asking me if I had any jobs. I guess that shows how far I have come.
